The Product Configurator is a supplement to MONITOR. It provides system support to manage and combine several variants and models of a product.
By using a basic design you can according to the set rules compose different variants and create different models, and then calculate prices. You can then create a manufacturing order for the different variants. By using variables, the system also allows you to compose custom-made products.
The Product Configurator is integrated in MONITOR and means an expansion with a number of procedures to register and maintain the basic data. The basic data consists of (apart from the regular preparation) configuration groups where alternatives and rules for the product variants are specified.
In addition to this, there is more functionality in the calculation and order procedures where the parts and product variants are handled, and related functions to administer and show configuration statistics.
The procedures included in the Product Configurator can be found in the procedure menu under the Parts sub-module in the Manufacturing module. For a description of the procedures please see the Help Function below for the respective procedure.
