Automatic M/P orders from Customer Orders and Service Orders

In this section you will find settings that apply when the system automatically generates manufacturing orders and purchase orders from customer and service orders.

Create manufacturing order from customer order

Here you can choose if a manufacturing order or a manufacturing order suggestion should be created automatically based on the order rows of a customer order registered in the Register Customer Order procedure. The setting also applies to service orders registered in the Register Service Order procedure. The available alternatives are:

• Do not create M-order - If you select this option, no manufacturing order rows or suggestions will be created.
• Create M-order - If you choose this alternative the order will, when it is saved, open the Register Manufacturing Order procedure with a new manufacturing order containing new order rows corresponding to the order rows of the order.
• Create M-order suggestion - If you select this alternative, a manufacturing order suggestion will be created corresponding to the order rows. A status box will confirm that an order suggestion has been created.

Create M-order/suggestion by default in Register Customer Order?

If you select to create a manufacturing order/manufacturing order suggestion from the customer order, this setting will determine that the alternative to automatically create manufacturing orders/suggestions from a customer order is the default selection in the Register Customer Order procedure. The setting also applies to service orders registered in the Register Service Order procedure.

Project number entered as

If you have selected to create a manufacturing order from the customer order, you can also choose how the project number should be configured on the manufacturing order. The available alternatives are:

• Normal - The project number is entered manually for the created M-order.
• Customer order number - The customer order number for the created customer order will be configured as the project number for the M-order that is created. The project's name will be the same as the customer's name by default.
• Customer's order number - The customer's order number that was entered in the field called Your order number on the customer order, will be configured as the project number for the M-order that is created. The project's name will be the same as the customer's name by default.
• Project number - Project number is loaded from the project number in the account string on the customer order row (a project number from project in the Accounting module must therefore be selected there). The project name is loaded from the name of the project in the Accounting module. In this case, you cannot edit the project name in the Register Manufacturing Order procedure. This alternative is selected by default.

Manufacturing order number entered as

If you have selected to create a manufacturing order from the customer order, you can also choose how the M-order number should be configured. The available alternatives are:

• From number series - The M-order number is taken from the Number Series, just as when an M-order is created manually.
• Customer order number + Position number - The order number on the M-order rows are equal to the customer order number + the position number for the customer order row. For example, for customer order 123456 row 2 (Pos. 2) the M-order number will be 123456-2 on the corresponding M-order row. Please note that the manufacturing order (M-order) number can be a maximum of 20 characters. This alternative is selected by default.

Allow edit of M-order no./P-order no. on customer order row

If you activate this setting it is possible for you to edit the M-order number/P-order number on customer order row in the Register Customer Order procedure. The setting also applies to service orders registered in the Register Service Order procedure.

Please note that it is not possible to edit the manufacturing order number if the setting Show max. quantity, under Requirements Planning in the Inventory tab in this procedure, has also been activated.

Create purchase order from customer order?

Here you can configure to create purchase order for purchase parts that have the lot sizing rule L (Lot-for-lot) when the customer order is registered in the Register Customer Order procedure. The setting also applies to service orders registered in the Register Service Order procedure. The available alternatives are:

• No - If you select this option, no purchase orders or suggestions will be created.
• Yes, OK to enter - If you use this option, you can choose whether or not you want to create purchase orders.
• Yes, default - If you select this option, purchase orders will be created.

Include project coding in purchase order

If this setting has been activated and the customer order rows are coded against project, then the project coding is also set for purchase order rows that have been generated from the customer order. A condition for this is that the account on the purchase order rows has got "Yes" or "Mandatory" in the Project field under the Account tab in the Chart of Accounts procedure. The setting also applies to service orders registered in the Register Service Order procedure.
