General Information about Check Setup Times

You will find a general description of Managing Lists in the System in the chapter MONITOR General Information in the MONITOR Basics.

What Does This Procedure Do?

In the Check Setup Times you can compare the planned setup times with the reported setup times from finished or partially reported operations. However, only operations reported as finished will be included in the list. The reported setup times are used as a basis to adjust the planned setup times for operations under preparations.

You can report setup times in the Operation Reporting, but the best way to obtain actual setup times is to use the Recording Terminal or the Report Work in the Workshop Info module. The idea is that the operators should report setup times directly in the recording terminal, in the Finish work mode. It is also possible to report in the Partial report work mode.

To enable the operators to report setup time in the recording terminal, the setting Setup Time Portion of Direct Work must be configured under Extra work settings in the Update Employee procedure. During finish work or partial work reporting, the setup time is entered in the Extended field on the operation row.

Reported setup time is shown in the Order Info and Post-Calculation procedures.

Under the Create tab you can select by; Work center, Actual finish period Op, Part number, Order number, Department, Project and Part code.

There are two different kinds of list types to choose from: Log and Only total. The list type that you select under the Create tab determines how much information will be shown in the list. In the list you will see an efficiency factor E = Planned setup time / Reported setup time. Read more about the different lists under Printout samples.
