The Man-hours/dept. tab

Under the ClosedMan-hours/dept. tab you can see the supply of man-hours and capacity per department. By default the list shows 10 weeks but via the Info Menu you can choose to show 10 days instead.

Sample of the list in the Man-hours/dept. tab.

The term "man-hours" means that you can enter a staffing factor on operation rows in the preparation that will be used as an exception to the staffing factor registered for the work center. With this feature it is possible to see the man-hour requirement here in the Loading Selection procedure.

The loading is calculated as usual. The capacity can be calculated in two different ways. The capacity is either loaded from the employees linked to the same department or you can enter the capacity of the department manually, depending on whether or not you have selected the setting Employees' capacity acc. to schedule under Man-hours and capacity/dept. in the Search Form.

To avoid that the employees generate full scheduled time per day as available capacity for production, there is the Share indirect time field in the Update employee procedure in the Workshop Info module, where you enter the indirect time in percentage form. In this way the capacity is decreased with the time used for meetings, cleaning etc. Basis for the percentage can be displayed in the Statistics procedure in the Workshop Info module.

As the employees sometimes do not work all the time within the same department, the system supports the possibility to lend staff to another department. To do this, use your mouse to "drag and drop". You drag a week box of an employee and drop it in another department in the list. Then the capacity of the regular department decreases and a temporary capacity is created in the other department.

You can also use the Insert row button in the Window functions to manually insert capacity entries in the selected department in the list. This can be done independently from the capacity calculation via the employees or as a complement. In some cases there might be a need to add overtime or temporary staff as planned capacity. After you have inserted a capacity entry in the list, you can enter an employee number or a capacity code in the column to the left and then enter the capacity in hours.

By using the Info Menu you can link to the Attendance List and Absence List procedures. You can also open the Update Messages procedure to send messages to employees to notify them of temporary change of department.
