General Information about Location Name List

You will find a general description of how to manage lists in MONITOR in the chapter Managing Lists in the System under General in the MONITOR Basics guide.

What Does This Procedure Do?

From the Create tab you can here create a list of the location names generated in the Generate Location Name procedure. You can also edit and delete location names. It is also possible to create new location names based on already existing location names.

You can select list types containing different information for each list type. The list types are described in detail under List types. If the supplement called Warehouse Management is used you can select for which warehouse that you wish to show location names in the list.

If the setting Validate location, under the Location heading under the Inventory tab in the Settings procedure has been set to Mandatory or Warn, then you can validate entered locations for transactions that result in transfer to stock, against the location names generated in this procedure. This is done in order to avoid that parts are placed in locations with incorrect or invalid location names.

Please Note! However, if the supplement Stock Location System is used you cannot use the validate location function. A warning is displayed when the procedure opens.

What Update Options Exist for this Procedure?

In this procedure, you can update the following:

In the list type called Incorrect you can save locations that exist in the system but that previously have not had an approved equivalent in the location name register.

In the list type called Modify you can:

In the list type called Delete you can delete location names.

In the list type called Location settings you can add and modify conditions that have been entered for the part via the Location settings button in the Update Part procedure.
