The Info Menu

A very handy feature in all of MONITOR's procedure is using the right mouse button to show the Info menu, which displays additional information or lets you perform certain often used functions. The Info Menu consists of a top section with a number of fixed functions. In the lower part different functions will be displayed depending which procedure you were in when activating the Info menu.

The standard design of the upper section consists of five info procedures that "links" you to a procedure with a loaded record or to a selected record in a list. There is also a sixth info procedure and it "links" you to tool records. It belongs to the supplement Tool Register. In the upper section you can also access a phrase register in which you can search and load phrases. You can also access a calculator for making minor calculations, which then can be saved. When opening the Info menu on certain places in MONITOR the alternatives Phrases and Calculator will be greyed out, then they cannot be used. All available options in the upper section are:

For the "linked" info procedures there are corresponding procedures in the Procedure menu in the respective module. If you open these procedures from the Procedure menu they will not be linked to a specific record. For Phrases there is a registering procedure which you find under Tables in the Global Settings module. The Calculator is only available in the Info menu.

In tables and lists of "grid type" you will also find the following function in a section on the Info menu:

In all lists, quotes, inquiries, orders and invoice rows there are also functions in a section in the Info menu for creating and purging filters. Filter is also available on the rows in the Arrival Reporting and Delivery Reporting procedures. In lists you can also load filter and sorting profiles, edit properties and copy data to selection. The lower section of the Info menu contains so-called "dynamic links". These are functions related to the procedure window in which the Info menu was activated. In certain columns, fields or objects in a window, for example the BOM list in the Preparation procedure or the pillars/bars in the lead time chart in the Order List procedure, you can display additional information via dynamic links. For information regarding the functions in the Info menu for a specific procedure window - go to the Help section for the procedure in question.

Where motivated, you can in the procedure windows use the Info menu to quickly gain access to other procedures closely connected to the selected record. For example, in the Preparation procedure it is possible for you to open the Update Part - Inventory procedure if you right-click with the cursor placed over the part number field. In the Work Center field, you can open Update Work Center, etc. However, if you do not have access rights for that particular procedure, this option will be grayed out in the Info menu as well. In many lists you can dynamically link to related procedures that have the current information loaded.

By using the Info menu, you can quickly access additional information, or directly perform certain activities that are closely connected to the procedure you are in, without having to go via the Procedure menu or the Window menu. Using the Info menu will render your daily work methods in MONITOR considerably more effective.
