AutoRun Settings
In the AutoRun Settings window, in the title bar, you will see to which sequence the run belongs and the priority of the run. At the bottom of this window you will see who created the sequence. The window layout depends on what the procedure shall perform. In the Do what? field you can select if the result shall be presented or notified to someone. If so, a field opens in which you can enter a recipient.
Description
Here you enter a description text for the run.
Profiles
Here you select From user and then you can select Default values, Filter, Properties, Sorting, and Chart, if such have been saved for the user in the current procedure in the run. Here you can for example select a saved Search Form. The selectable alternatives are all saved Search Forms for the selected user in the From user field.
If there are no default values, filters, properties, sorting, or charts saved, the respective field will remain inactive.
Warehouse
If you have installed the supplement Warehouse Management, it is possible to select a specific warehouse or <All> warehouses.
Different Selections
Here you can make different selections depending on the procedure for which you want to create an automatic run. The following choices are available for all alternatives: No, Yes and Inverted. Read more about the List Selections in the MONITOR General Information chapter in the MONITOR Basics.
Do What?
Here you select the type of result the run is to create and how this result should be handled. When you add a procedure to a sequence it is inactive by default and no result is created. The different selections that can be made are pretty much the same as the function of the procedure when it is run manually.
The different selections that can be entered for a run are:
- Calculate / Save - no result is presented. The run only performs and saves the calculations that the procedure in question normally performs. If any result needs to be checked, the sequence must be completed with an additional run that presents the result in a list. The Calculate / Save option is the only option that is available for the Material Clearance.
- Export to file - a field opens where you can enter to which file name you want to save the result. During configuration of the AutoRun you can complement the file name with variables in order for the files to be unique (see Variables in file names below). The file formats supported are XLS, XLSX, ODS, HTML, XML, PDF and RTF. Please note the following when exporting to file in Excel's file formats. The file extension must coincide with the file format entered as default in Excel on the computer from which the automatic run is made. If Excel is not installed on the computer you can use the file format XLS since the export will then be made via printout to MDC, which in turn will interpret the contents and create an XLS file.
- Inactive (default) - when using this alternative the current procedure will not be run.
- Copy to selection (just add) - there are several different selections that can be chosen to copy to. The result of this alternative is that the numbers that exist in the list created by the run is added to the temporary table Selection. This can later be used as selection in following runs in the current sequence.
- Copy to selection (clear first) - the same as the above, except that the temporary table is purged before the new numbers are added.
- MONITOR Agent Results for future analysis (Rows) - the result is saved in a specific table, the result database, where it can be checked later on. This selection activates a button. If you click on this button, a window appears where you can enter one or several recipients of the result. Possible receivers for this type of result are users registered in MONITOR. If you want to enter several receivers, these should be separated by a comma. This specific selection only shows how many rows the list contained after the run. You can print the result from the result database in connection with the preview. Read more about the result database under Agent Result.
- MONITOR Agent Results for future analysis (Preview) - the same as the above, except that this selection displays the entire list in the preview mode.
- MONITOR Agent Results for future analysis (Display List) - the same as above, except that this selection displays the entire list in the same way as when the procedure is manually run by using the "Display List" button. This means that the data can be sorted and filtered before any printout is made.
- Print to HTML-file and send via e-mail - when using this alternative the result is converted to an HTML file which is then attached in an e-mail message. This selection also activates a button. If you click on this button, a window appears where you can enter one or several recipients of the result. For receivers that are registered MONITOR users, the e-mail address is shown in a list box provided that the e-mail address has been updated in the user register. Other e-mail addresses that have been used are also saved. This means that they can be re-used. If the address is manually entered, it will be re-saved. Other information such as subject and message can also be entered in this window. If you want to enter several receivers, these should be separated by a comma.
- Print to PDF-file and send via e-mail - the same as above, except that the result list is converted to PDF format. This alternative can also be used during AutoRuns of form printouts, to send forms via e-mail.
- Print - opens a field where you can select the printer you want to use when printing the result. The available printers are registered in MONITOR. This alternative can also be used during AutoRuns of form printouts.
- Print or send (forms) - this alternative is used during AutoRuns of form printouts, in order to either print forms or send them via e-mail, depending of the setting of Printout via on the order/customer/supplier.
- Print chart - by using this selection you can print a chart. Please note that you need a property profile with default values to display the chart of the selected list type.
- Print chart to PDF file and send via e-mail - by using this alternative you can print a chart to a PDF file that can be attached to an e-mail message. Please note that you need a property profile with default values to display the chart of the selected list type.
If the handling of the result selected in the Do what? field involves sending of e-mail, it is possible to register a general address of sender using the setting E-mail address for sender during AutoRuns, under Fax / E-mail under the System tab in the Settings procedure. If a general address of sender should not be used, then the user selected in the From user field above must have an e-mail address registered in the Users procedure. For the user called MONAGENT you enter an e-mail address in the User List procedure (can only be entered by ADMIN or a corresponding administrator equivalent user).
Report Number
If you want to run the Report Generator in the Accounting via the AutoRuns, a report number field appears. This is where you select a report for the AutoRuns.

* Obs! The date and spelling will be set according to the date and language setting in Windows. Colon (:) when telling time will be replaced with underline (_) in file names. If the date format in Windows contains a slash (/), no file will be created during export!

pialist_%x will be given the file name pialist_2015-04-03 if the run is performed that day.
Please Note! It is important that the variables are entered correctly and also that the result only contains characters valid in file names - otherwise program run errors can occur! You cannot use spaces in a variable; you should e.g. enter %d and not % d.
