Selection Alternatives for Selection Group

The section Selection alternatives for selection group describes the different parts that can be selected as alternatives to the selection groups, provided that the alternative Optional has not been configured for the selection group.

The Type for each selection group determines how the selection alternatives should be managed.

• For a selection group with type Mandatory selection (one), you must choose one selection alternative. Therefore. one of the alternatives must be selected as the default alternative. These parts must be included in the structure.
• For a selection group with type Not mandatory selection (one), it is optional to choose one alternative. These parts can for examples be accessories or spare parts etc.
• For a selection group with type Not mandatory selection (several), it is optional to choose one or several alternatives. When it is allowed to select several alternatives, these alternatives can also be combined. These parts can also be accessories or spare parts etc.

If you open the Info menu by right-clicking, you can go to the Preparation and the Update Part - Inventory procedures. This is useful when creating new parts that shall be included in the configuration group, or when changing the part data to better suit the configuration. You will also find an alternative in the Info menu to load parts from the part selection.
