The General tab contains all the general information about a part. This tab can also be found in the corresponding procedure in the modules Purchase and Sales (excluding the information regarding location, physical inventory and traceability). Each time you create a new part, this tab is opened. The fields are presented in different groups.
The Standard price heading contains information about current and future standard price, unit and alternate unit. Here you can also see current and future alternate price. Under the Expenses button you can enter expenses for the part.
The Classification heading contains the classification terms Part code, Part category and Product group that can be linked to a part, and which all have different meanings. The term Product group is a mandatory link for a part.
Under the Stock heading, you will find stock location information about a part. Depending on your system settings, you can also manage one or more stock locations for each part. If you use the supplement Stock Location System, you will also find stock settings under this tab. If the setting called Validate location is activated you will see the Location settings button. There you can enter a condition that will display which location names that are valid for the part in question.
Under the Physical inventory info heading, you will find the part's physical inventory info. Here you can enter 1 or 2 physical inventory months for a part, provided that continuous physical inventory is used.
Under Miscellaneous it is possible to select whether or not a part shall be stock updated, purchased/manufactured on project and if you want to use traceability for the part. You can also enter an Alias for BI and an Optional value for the part.
Under Drawing number/revision you can enter drawing number and revision for a part.
Under the heading Status/block you can also enter status for the part. You can also block/notify a part from order registration and reporting. An GS1 code can also be entered.
In the right portion of the tab, it is possible to enter an additional name for a part.
Under the heading Product Configurator it is possible to link a configuration group and enter a price formula. You can also enter an alternate selection text and an optional alternate selection text.
Via the buttons available under the tab you can create hyperlinks of the part, see the modification log for the loaded part and translate the name and additional name. You can also view a standard price log for a part. The final button allows you to enter an internal comment regarding the part.
At the very bottom of the tab, you can see information about who the part was created by and when; as well as who the part was modified by and when. Modifications do not include things like changing the statistics or supplier links.
